DISTANCE: 2.3 miles

ride time: 20 mins

  • To begin your tour of all things Brighton, hire a bike from The Level and admire the Gothic Revival architecture of St Peter's Church as you cycle down towards the iconic Royal Pavilion.

  • Built by King George IV, the unique Regency palace has a colourful history that goes back 200 years. Lock your bike in the Church St hub, following the instructions on the keypad screen to put it on ‘hold’ for up to 60 minutes. This will give you time to explore the gardens on foot (no cycling allowed unfortunately!) and, if you’re speedy, the Pavilion itself.

  • After soaking up the history, retrieve your BTN BikeShare bike and cycle down to the Palace Pier - because what's a trip around Brighton without a stroll down the Pier? There's a hub by the entrance to put your bike on hold for another 60 minutes. Just try not to get too hooked on the arcade games!

  • Brighton's shopping scene is a haven for those seeking retail therapy, with the Lanes being home to some Brighton institutions like Choccywoccydoodah. To reach the Lanes, head West along the seafront from the Pier and turn right up Black Lion St. Hop off to explore the narrow, winding lanes on foot.

  • Once you're all shopped out, the best way to finish a day in Brighton is a trip up the i360 as the sun sets. To get there, head back down towards the seafront and take a right, heading West - at 162m tall, you won't be able to miss it! There’s a hub just outside when you can lock your bike and end your journey.
